Sorrento, know as Surrentum
2000 years ago, is situated at the southern extremity of the
Gulf. For this strategic position, it was a sort of guardian
for all the ships coming from the South.
Nowadays, it is one of the important tourist localities in
Italy. Simply having a look at the Gulf from its high cliffs
or at the nearby island of Capri, it is worth a visit.
Surrounded by orange and lemon groves, and olive trees, it
is also very famous for the local handcraft (inlaid wood
work), and the local farmhouses, where you can taste the
typical products of the Coast: mozzarella, pasta,
olive oil, limoncello liqueur.

Our itinerary
The length of your visit to
Sorrento depends on the place where you are
staying. If your trip starts from Naples, you
have to consider about 4 hours for a visit of
the Sorrento Coast and the town of Sorrento. We
strongly suggest to choose your excursion to
Sorrento together with a trip to the Amalfi
Coast, or the Ruins of Pompei.
During your guided tour, you
will pass through several small villages on the
Coast, and you will be delighted by the variety
of the vegetation and the splendour of the
scenery. You will stop at the Belvedere of Meta
di Sorrento to admire the magnificent view
overlooking the sea, which goes until the isle
of Capri. You will visit Sorrento and its most
famous places: the Historical Centre, the
Cloister of Saint Francis, the Gardens and the
Mills Valley. Finally, you will come back to
your hotel, or you will continue to the Amalfi
Coast.
